Desired Learning Outcomes
To be defined by the professor on a case-by-case basis. In general, via the internship the student should obtain additional mathematical knowledge, and/or apply non-trivial mathematical techniques in creative ways.
Prerequisites
To be defined by the professor on a case-by-case basis.
1) Already have a math intensive internship arranged which includes job assignments which are closely aligned with mathematics major.
2) Currently have a BYU mathematics faculty mentor who is willing to supervise the internship for academic credit.
Minimal learning outcomes
To be defined by the professor on a case-by-case basis. To receive academic credit all students are expected to apply mathematical concepts and tools in their work, and to document what they have learned in a manner that is acceptable to the professor.
