MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

1. Mathematics advisor to Harcourt Math for K-6 math program.  Other advisors were Richard Askey, Professor of mathematics University of Wisconsin, David Singer, Professor of Mathematics, Case Western Reserve, University,
   Jerome Dancis, Associate professor of Mathematics, University of Maryland, and Tom Roby, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, California State University, Hayward.
2. Content review for Grades 5 and 6 for Houghton Mifflin Mathematics.  Other content reviewers include Lawrence Braden, Don Chakerian, Kurt Kreith, and Liping Ma.
3. Member of three committees for the Utah State Office of Education evaluating secondary mathematics standards.
4. Group leader for BYU Professional Development Outreach Group of secondary mathematics teachers (affiliated with Park City Mathematics Institute). 2002–present.
5. Member of Advisory Panel for Achieve, Inc.  This group was created in 1996 after a Governors' summit meeting on education, as an independent body working to achieve agreement across states on strategies to improve K–12 education.  Fifteen states are currently involved.
6. Volunteer seventh grade algebra teacher at Centennial Middle School.
